Who Are We? |
 |
Greetings.
My name is
Arthur Stevens. I am not a politician. I have no agenda other than to help
create a peaceful world; a world where we will live with dignity, with
equality and equal justice for all, in harmony with all living things and
the environment.
I had
long suffered the plight of the homeless and the hungry, the abused and
exploited, witnessing our inhumane treatment of one another, that in 1993,
the Harmony Coalition was born.
Our
organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and was formed with the
objective of helping the homeless and working poor. Since 1994 we have
dedicated our efforts towards achieving racial and cultural harmony through
our non-violence programs. We are now creating a movement with the sole
purpose of reaching out to people who feel each person must do their part
to promote peace and harmony in the world. There will be two cornerstones
for this movement.
The first
will appeal to the young people. They will be our "Guides" both spiritually
and physically, role models of life styles and values to which others would
want to aspire, in order to achieve our goal and vision of a peaceful
society. It has always been true that young people have reflected the
behavior and morals of the adult society in which they live. It is our
goal to shift that balance and make the young people our models, emissaries
of peace and harmony, bringing the message to their peers and the
community.
The second
cornerstone will be non-sectarian International Centers for Peace and
Harmony, housing the Harmony Coalition "Proclamation for a Peaceful
Community" as well as peace declarations from around the world. They will
provide a climate of reflection, reconciliation, peace and harmony.
